Index Web users can easily create and manage their contacts list via the Inbox or Contacts tabs.
FYI: If any changes made to your contact details (name, number, etc) are not being reflected on Web or mobile, visit Index Web Settings > "Sync Legacy Contact Names" to sync those changes. More information can be seen here.
Adding a new contact
Via the Inbox tab
- Select the phone number from the conversation list in your inbox.
- Click the (contact card icon) located on the top-right to open the Contact Details screen.
- From there, follow the steps below to enter the contact details.
- When complete, click the "Add" button to save the new contact to your Index address book.
Via the Contacts Tab
- View the Contacts tab in Index Web.
- Select the "Add" button on the top-right of the screen.
- A panel will open to allow you to enter the new contact details (they are not required, but optional fields depending on what info you have):
- Name
- Tags
- Phone
- Company
- URL
- Address
- Notes
The contact will auto-save after you enter information into one field and select a new one.
Editing an existing contact
Via the Inbox Tab / Conversation Screen
- Select the phone number from the conversation list in your inbox.
- Click the (contact card icon) located on the top-right to open the Contact Details screen.
- Follow the steps below to add, edit, or delete contact information.
Via the Contacts tab
- View the Contacts tab in Index Web.
- Locate and select the contact to pull up the panel where you can edit.
- To add, click into the text field and add the information. It will auto-save.
- To edit, hover over the field you want to make changes to, then select the pencil icon.
- To delete the info in the field, select the trash can icon.
The updated information will auto-save after clicking out of the field you were editing.
Deleting a contact
Via the Inbox Tab / Conversation Screen
- Select the phone number from the conversation list in your inbox.
- Click the (contact card icon) located on the top-right to open the Contact Details screen.
- Follow steps 3-5 below.
Via the Contacts tab
- View the Contacts tab in Index Web.
- Locate and select the contact to pull up the editing panel.
- Select the at the top-right of the contact screen.
- Select Delete Contact.
- Confirm your selection by clicking Delete once more on the pop-up.
