Deactivating your Index account is different from deleting your account in that this action is temporary. Think of this process as temporarily suspending your account, rather than a permanent deletion.
For example, you may want to disable your account temporarily if you're going on a trip and won't be using Index for a while, but want to re-activate it once you're back.

What will happen when I deactivate my account?
You will not receive calls or texts to your Index number. In addition, you may encounter the following issues if your account is disabled for an extended period:
- You may lose some of your call & message history if you reopen your account.
- You may lose your Index number.
If you'd like to proceed with disabling your account, follow the steps below.
To deactivate your account on iOS:
- Index Settings.
- Under Account, tap Account Info.
- Select Deactivate or Delete Account.
- Select Deactivate Account.
- Tap Continue.
- Confirm your selection by tapping Deactivate on the popup window (or cancel if you've changed your mind).
- You'll receive a confirmation that your account has been deactivated.
- On this screen, you will be presented with two options:
- Go to Subscription = select this button if you'd like to view or cancel your subscription at this time to avoid future charges.
- Keep My Subscription = select this button if you intend to keep your subscription at this time and understand that you'll continue to be charged for your subscription until you manually cancel it.
Items to note:
- To reactivate your account, please contact support. You cannot reopen your account via the app.
- If you have special subscription pricing and you cancel your subscription, we will be unable to honor it or get it back should you request to re-activate your account in the future.
- If you deactivate your account but keep your subscription active, you won't lose your pricing (unless you have a lapse in payment when your subscription is set to auto-renew)
