Index iOS subscribers have a Do Not Disturb feature which includes two options:
The first option allows you to quickly silence incoming communication indefinitely (until turned off), while the second allows you to set a specific time(s) to silence communication-based on the business hours you've set. Both options send incoming calls straight to your Index voicemail.
Please view the current limitations when using this feature to better understand the experience and how to use this feature to best suit your needs.
Do Not Disturb 'Always'
The 'Do Not Disturb' setting allows you to quickly silence Index's incoming calls and texts indefinitely. This feature works just like your iOS device's 'Do Not Disturb' feature; toggling the feature on and off when you need it.
To enable:
- Index Settings.
- Tap Do Not Disturb.
- Tap the button to enable (green).
- Ensure that the Always option is checked (or tap it to select).
To disable: Tap the button to disable (gray) and the 'Always' and 'Outside Business Hours' will disappear confirming that Do Not Disturb is off.
Do Not Disturb 'Outside Business Hours'
Do Not Disturb can also be used with a business hours schedule, allowing you to set the specific hours you want to automatically silence incoming calls & texts.
To enable:
- Index Settings.
- Tap Do Not Disturb.
- Tap the button to enable (green).
- Ensure that the Outside Business Hours option is checked (or tap it to select).
To disable: Tap the button to disable (gray) and the 'Always' and 'Outside Business Hours' will disappear confirming Do Not Disturb is off.
Current Limitations
- You cannot set exceptions for Do Not Disturb (e.g. allowing some calls/texts to come through from specific contacts).
- Your customers will not be notified that Do Not Disturb is on (unless you create a custom Auto-Reply response letting them know).
- Auto-Reply to calls and/or texts cannot be set to follow the same schedule as Do Not Disturb Outside Business Hours.
- The Auto-Reply setting has to be enabled and disabled manually each time you use the Do Not Disturb feature (if you wish to send an auto-response informing customers that your business is closed currently).
