Have you recently done (or planning to do) one of the following?
- Change your mobile number
- Transfer your Index account to a new phone (and wish to keep your Index number)
If so, please see the instructions below on how to change/update the mobile number (aka registered number) associated with your Index account.
FYI: You cannot change your registered number via Index Web, please use the mobile app.
iPhone
- Log into Index.
- Tap Settings.
- Scroll and tap Support.
- Tap Update iPhone Number.
- Enter your NEW iPhone number.
- Tap Continue to update.
Note: If you don't have the ability to change your registered number within the app, please ensure you have updated Index to the most recent iOS app store version, then try again.
Android
If you are currently logged into your Index account:
- View Index Settings.
- Tap Account.
- Select Log Out.
- Reopen the Index app (on the device with your NEW number), then tap Log In.
- Enter your INDEX number (ignore the message to enter your device's number.)
- Enter the password associated with your account.
- Tap Login.
- Once you log in, you'll be prompted to register the new mobile number to your account (agree to this, and your registered number will be updated.)
Note: As stated in step #5 above, when logging into Index for the first time with your NEW mobile number, enter your Index number in the "Enter Your Mobile Number" field (and not your new cell number.)
Did you forget your password?
If you forgot your password when logging into Index on your new device:
- Enter your mobile number > Continue > Forgot Password.
- The reset password link will be sent to the email you verified (since you can't access the link from your old device/number.)
