How do I change my Index phone number?

While Index numbers are meant to be permanent, we understand there are circumstances where a new phone number might be necessary.

Please Note: You will have 30 seconds to choose a new number before the session times out.

To change your phone number within the Index app:

1. Index Settings.
2. Tap Account info. 
3. Tap your current Index number.
4. On the next screen, tap on Change Index Number.
   • Android: Tap continue to choose a new number starting with area code.
   • iOS: Tap Search by City, or Search by Area Code to find a new number*

iOS users: As of Index app version 3.98.1, you have the 2nd option to search by City when choosing a number.

(iOS) How to search for an Index number by city/location: 

Follow steps 1-4 seen above, then proceed to: 

1. Enter your desired city/location in the search field.
2. A drop-down menu will display the location(s) that match your search.
3. If you find the location you want, click it.
4. A list of the available numbers in your city will then display.
5. Once you've found the number you want, select it.
6. Tap the Choose This Number to confirm your selection (or tap Change Selection to go back).

Tip: If there are no numbers available in the location you searched for, we will suggest nearby locations that you can choose a number from.
