Please see below for information on how the port-out process works and the typical port-out processing times.
- Generally speaking, the "gaining carrier" (where you're porting your number to) controls the time it takes to complete the port.
- Our role, as the "losing carrier" (where you're porting your number out FROM), is to verify that you've requested the port out process to begin.
- Once you've provided the gaining carrier with your Index Account and PIN number, it's in their hands.
From what we have seen in the past, the process can take anywhere from 2-5 days to complete (but as mentioned above, this is dependent on the Carrier).
Note: The above timeframe is an estimate & some ports may fall outside the normal processing times if additional information is requested by the carrier you're porting your number to.
To receive a more accurate estimate, we would suggest reaching out to the carrier/service you're porting your number to and asking for their approximation.
