How to set up & request payments using Index

As an Index subscriber, you can send a payment request easily using Index mobile or Web. Some common payment providers that you can link to Index are (but are not limited to): 

• Venmo
• PayPal
• Square
• Cash App
• Stripe

Note: Each provider mentioned above may have a different process on how to obtain your unique payment URL. It is advised that you contact your provider's support team for information on how to obtain a shareable link. 

See the steps below for how to set up payments by adding a link(s) and how to send a payment request.

Adding your unique payment link to Index

1. Index mobile Settings. 
2. Tap Payments.
3. Enter the payments message. (What text you'd like to include with your payment link)
4. Enter the payment link (you can add up to three URLs, but only one is required to use payments)
5. Tap Save.

Please Note: We do a basic check to ensure your URL is complete (and not invalid). Other than that, it is your responsibility to ensure your payment URL is correct.

Sending a payment request

Once you've entered a payment link using the steps above, you can start sending that link to your clients. Here's how: 

1.  Locate the conversation that you want to send the payment request to. 
   • You can also compose a new message and send the link from there. 
2. Click the (Payment icon) located below the text field. 
3. This will auto-generate the payment link and message for you to send. 
4. If you are satisfied with the message, tap the send button.

Note: You cannot add or edit your payment links via Index Web, it must be done via Index mobile. 

After you've added your payment links via mobile, you can send a payment request via Index Web. Here's how: 

1. On the Index Web inbox screen, locate the conversation that you want to send the payment request to. 
   • You can also compose a new message and send the link from there. 
2. Click the(Payment icon) located below the text field. 
3. This will auto-generate the payment link and message for you to send. 
4. If you are satisfied with the message, tap the send button.
