How to send and receive Audio Messages

This article outlines how to both send and receive Audio Messages using the Index app and Web. Audio Messages allow you to record a message through your phone speaker and send that recording within your regular text message conversation threads.

Note: You will need to grant "Microphone Permissions" to use this feature. You will be prompted to enable this feature when you record your first audio message (if you don't have it enabled currently).

--Tab 1 Start--

To Send Audio Messages

1. In your conversation thread, tap and hold the icon to record your message.
2. Press the UP arrow to send the message.
3. Your message wil be displayed in the conversation with a play icon (as seen below).

To Receive Audio Messages

New Audio Messages will appear within your conversation threads just like regular texts. To play the message, simply press the "Play" icon on the left side of the message.

To Send Audio Messages

1. In your conversation thread, tap and hold the icon on the far right of your text field to record your message.
2. Press the arrow to send the message.
3. Your message wil be displayed in the conversation with a play icon (as seen below).

To Receive Audio Messages

New Audio Messages will appear within your conversation threads just like regular texts. To play the message, simply press the "Play" icon on the left side of the message.

Currently, Index Web does not offer the option to create audio messages, however, you can still receive and play them. Received messages must be in the following formats: Mp3, Amr, Wav, M4a.

To play the message, press the "Play" icon on the left of the message once received.
