Issue Symptom
Did you receive the following pop-up message while attempting to create a Sideline account?
"Existing Account Found. Looks like you already have an account with Index, one of the apps in our family. Log in to Index for all the great features of Sideline and more."
Conditions
Do the following apply to you?
- Currently have an Index account with an active subscription.
- Attempting to create a Sideline account when the error message is received.
If the above is true, continue reading the information below as to why you will be unable to create a Sideline account and what options you have moving forward.
Cause & Resolution
You are receiving this message because Index subscribers cannot create a Sideline account. The Index app (and our other app, Sideline) cannot have the same device number linked to both accounts.
Sideline is part of the Pinger family, and Index includes additional features and tools for our business customers that Sideline does not include.
With that being said, if you decide that Index is not suited for you, you can always cancel your Index subscription and switch to a Sideline account.
Here's how:
- Close your Index account.
- Cancel your current subscription to Index.
- Create a Sideline account.
Items to note:
- If you wish to transfer your Index number to use with your Sideline account, please contact us prior to canceling your account.
- Closing your account does not automatically cancel your active subscription.
