Log in/Log out of Index

This article highlights how to log in and out of your Index mobile account.

Tip: If you can't log in because you forgot your password, click here for steps on how to reset your password.

--Tab 1 Start--

 iPhone Log in

1. Open the Index app.
2. Tap Log In.
3. On the Welcome Back screen:
   1. Enter your iPhone number (with area code).
   2. Enter your password.
      1. If you forgot your password, tap 'forgot password' and a reset link will be sent to your email address associated with your Index account.
4. Tap Log In.
5. You'll then receive a text message from Index. It will contain a 6-digit verification code.
6. Enter the verification code, then tap Continue.
7. You will then see your Index inbox letting you know you have successfully logged in and verified your account.

Log out

1. In the Index app, go to Settings, then tap 'Account'.
2. Tap the Log Out button. 

Please Note:

• Once you've logged out of your account, you will no longer receive notifications for calls or messages.
• If you need to log out of multiple devices (if you changed your password or feel that your account has been compromised) please contact support for assistance.

 Android Log in

1. Open the Index app.
2. Tap Log In.
3. Enter your mobile number associated with your Index account, then tap Continue.
4. On the Welcome Back screen, enter your password.
   1. If you forgot your password, tap 'forgot password' and a reset link will be sent to your email address associated with your Index account.
5. Tap Login.
6. You'll then receive a text message from Index. It will contain a 6-digit verification code.
7. Enter the verification code, then tap Continue.
8. You will then see your Index inbox letting you know you have successfully logged in and verified your account.

Log out 

1. In the Index app, go to Settings, then tap 'Account'.
2. Tap the Log Out button.

Web Log in

1. Visit the Index Web login page: https://app.getindex.com/login
2. You’ll see a unique QR code on the login screen.
3. On your phone:
   1. Open your camera and point it at the QR code.
   2. Tap the link that appears.

What happens next on your phone:

• If you’re already logged into the app:
  1. The app opens and verifies the QR code.
  2. You’ll see a “Login successful” message.
  3. Your web session on your computer will log in automatically.
• If you’re not logged into the app:
  1. You’ll be prompted to log in as usual in the app.
  2. After you log in, the app will verify the QR code and log you into the web session.
• If you don’t have the app installed:
  1. You’ll be taken to the appropriate app store to download the app.
  2. You can proceed with the login steps above after installing the app.
• If the QR code has expired:
  1. For security, each QR code only works for a short time.
  2. If the QR code expires on the web page:
     • You’ll see a message asking you to refresh.
     • Click “Refresh” to generate a new QR code and try again.

Log out

1. While signed into Index Web, click the drop-down arrow to the right of your Index number (top-right of the screen).
2. Click Log Out.

Note: Once you've logged out of your account, you will no longer receive notifications for calls or messages.
