Call Forwarding offers Index iOS customers the ability to automatically forward incoming missed calls from their cellphone and INTO the Index app.
FYI: It does NOT allow you to forward calls outside of Index to another line.
Read the information below to understand how to set up and disable call forwarding, along with which Carriers we currently support.
Requirements
While we hope to support more Carriers in the future, we only support the following carriers for use with call forwarding at this time:
- AT&T
- Verizon
- T-Mobile
- Sprint
- Cricket Wireless
- US Cellular
Activating Call Forwarding
From Settings:
If you are already using Index and would like to activate Call Forwarding, follow the steps below.
- Index Settings.
- Under Tools, select Call Forwarding.
- A "Link your mobile number..." screen will display & we will try to detect your current carrier (it will be in bold).
- If the Carrier is correct, select Continue.
- If incorrect, select "Not My Carrier" > select your current Carrier.
- If your Carrier is not listed, this indicates that we do not support it at this time (info).
- A phone icon with a “Call + (your carrier’s code + (your Index number) will display. Click it to place the call to activate call forwarding.
- Depending on your Carrier, you will receive an audio or a visual confirmation.
- After the call, you will receive a "Success! Set Up Complete" screen if you've activated Call Forwarding successfully.
- Tap Done.
- If you've received an error during the setup process, tap "I received an error" on this screen. (For troubleshooting tips for Call Forwarding, click here.)
FYI You'll also receive a text message to your device confirming that you've successfully set up call forwarding & will include the disable codes (seen below). You can disable call forwarding at any time.
Disabling Call Forwarding
- Index Settings.
- Under Tools, select Call Forwarding.
- On the "Disconnect Call Forwarding" screen, select "Continue."
- A phone icon with your carrier’s code will display. Tap it to place the call that will disable call forwarding (the code to call varies per Carrier - see below for codes).
- Tap "Dismiss" (if applicable, this may not display depending on your carrier).
- There may not be a clear indication during the call (audio or visual) letting you know Call Forwarding has been disabled. The next step will confirm completion.
- A "Call Forwarding Disconnected" screen should display after the call if you've disabled Call Forwarding successfully.
- If you've received an error, select "I received an error" and visit the troubleshooting steps seen here.
- Tap "Done" when finished.
Carrier Disable Codes
As an alternative to the above steps or if you don't have access to the Index app Settings, you can manually disable calls from being forwarded by using your device's phone app.
Enter the following code into the dial pad (choose your Carrier) and place a call to disable Call Forwarding:
- Verizon: *73
- AT&T: ##004#
- T-Mobile: ##004#
- Sprint: *730 AND *740
- Cricket Wireless: ##004#
- US Cellular: *900 AND *920
Note: When you activate Call Forwarding, you'll receive a text message with the disable code in case you need to enter it manually.
