How to accept a Team Sharing invite

Important for Admins: If invites are NOT sending/being received via text message by the intended recipient, as a workaround, please have them download Index and accept the invite from within the app (see the device-specific instructions below). 

Follow the steps below on how to accept an invite from the Team Sharing Admin. More info on Team Sharing can be seen here. 

Note: Please make sure that The Admin has successfully sent the invite before proceeding. To check this, the Admin of the team can view Index Settings & they will see "pending" next to the member's name or number. (More Info.)

The information seen below applies to a member who received a Team Sharing invite to their iPhone. Follow the steps on how to accept the invite that was just received.

Member Experience

Once the Admin has sent the invite, the recipient of the invite will get a text message to their mobile number with a link to download Index as a first step.

Note: If the invite is not being received via text message, simply download Index from the app store and accept the invite from within the app. 

Member Next Steps

After the team member has downloaded Index, they will need to:

1. Open the Index app. 
2. Select "Create New Account" 
3. Enter the following information:
   • Your first and last name
   • Email
   • Business Name
   • iPhone number
   • A strong password that meets the requirements. 
4. After agreeing to the Privacy Policy & Terms of Service, click "Continue"
5. Verify your number: 
   • We will send a verification text to confirm the invite. 
   • Enter the 4-digit confirmation to continue. 
6. Click the "Accept Invitation" button to join the team. 
7. Permissions screens: Select "OK" on the next two screens to allow permissions when prompted.

When the member can view the inbox, that means that they have been successfully added to the team. To confirm, they can go to Index Settings > Team Sharing and they will see their name along with their status.

2. Select "Create New Account" 
3. Enter your mobile number, then tap Continue. 
4. Create a strong password that meets the requirements. 
5. After agreeing to the Privacy Policy & Terms of Service, click "Agree & Continue"
6. Verify your number: 
   • We will send a verification text to confirm the invite. 
   • Enter the 4-digit confirmation to continue. 
7. Click the "Accept Invitation" button to join the team. 
8. Permissions screen: Select "Accept" to continue and "Allow" each permission when prompted.
