This article should be used if you are having trouble with Call Forwarding and Index. Please view the generic issues you may encounter (below) before proceeding to the resolution steps.
FYI: If you change your Index number at any point in time, you will need to complete the call forwarding setup process again via Index Settings.
Generic Troubleshooting
Problem: Call Forwarding is not working even after you've completed the setup process.
- Try disconnecting Call Forwarding via Index Settings.
- Perform the Call Forwarding setup process again.
Problem: You've switched Carriers and Call Forwarding is not working.
If you changed your Carrier to a different supported Carrier after setting up call forwarding on Index:
- You will need to disconnect Call Forwarding via Index Settings.
- Perform the Call Forwarding setup process again.
- Your new Carrier’s designated Call Forwarding setup number will be used as part of the setup process.
- We will detect your new Carrier and provide the code during setup so you don't have to enter it manually.
Problem: Calls are still being forwarded even after canceling my Index account.
- Use the disable codes below (choose which Carrier) to manually disable calls from being forwarded to Index.
Additional Troubleshooting Tips
In addition to the troubleshooting steps above, we've identified a checklist of items that may help to resolve Call Forwarding issues if the above steps did not work.
1. Cell Signal or Strong Wi-Fi Connection
A strong cell signal or a strong Wi-Fi connection is required during setup. To activate call forwarding with Index, we need you to place a call on your device.
2. Disable Wi-Fi Calling
- Go to Settings > Phone > Calls on Other Devices (on your iPhone).
- In the list of devices, turn off Wi-Fi Calling for the device you want to remove.

3. Diable HD Voice in your phone's settings
More info coming soon.
4. Check the device's Operation System
Ensure you're on the most recent iOS version. Here's how to check/update if needed:
- iPhone Settings.
- General.
- Software Update.
The screen shows the currently installed version of iOS and whether an update is available. Apple's article for more information: Update your iPhone
5. Check device IMEI
- Check Carrier IMEI at IMEI.info
- Check the device's IMEI (Device Settings > About > scroll to locate IMEI)
