Important: During sign-up, you'll be asked to register your business details in order to get approved to use the app (more info on why this is required). You may use Index while your registration is being processed; however, if rejected, you will need to contact us to resubmit your business for approval.

Step 1: Create an account and choose a subscription
- Download Index from the Apple App Store. (Check the minimum device requirements to download and use Index HERE)
- On the welcome page, click Create Account.
- On the "Let's Get Started" page, click Continue.
- Enter the following BUSINESS information on the Create an Account screen:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Business Email
- Mobile Number
- Create Password (ensure your password meets the requirements seen here, or you will be unable to proceed)
- When complete, tap Continue.
- Enter the 4-digit code we just texted you on the Verify Your Number screen.
- On the "Enter Business Information" Screen, enter the following REQUIRED fields (be sure to enter the information accurately, or you may get rejected - tips on getting approved)
- Business Type
- Brand or DBA Name
- Business Address
- City
- State
- Zip Code
- Industry
- Business Website (optional for Sole Proprietors)
- Social Link (optional for Sole Proprietors)
- When all required info is added, tap Continue.
- After that, select the monthly subscription plan, then tap Continue.
- Confirm your subscription purchase by tapping Continue.
- Enter your app store info to log in and confirm your subscription. (if applicable)
Step 2: Confirm your Index number and allow permissions
- After you've completed step 1, you will see a "Welcome" pop-up screen with your Index number. You can confirm that you'd like to use the assigned number, or you can choose a new number to use for Index.
- If you'd like to use the assigned number, tap "Looks Good" or choose a NEW number to use as your Index number, select Choose a different number.
- After you've confirmed your number or chosen a new one, you will need to allow the following permissions:
- Notifications > Allow
- Contacts > Continue > Share ALL contacts
- Once all permissions are allowed, you'll be sent to your new Index Inbox, and you can start exploring the Index mobile app.
Important: Sending messages via Index & access to Index Web are disabled while your registration is processing. Once approved, you will be able to use these features.

- When complete, tap Continue.
- Enter the 4-digit code we just texted you on the Verify Your Number screen.

Step 2: Choose your number and subscription
- Choose your desired area code > click Continue.
- Choose a number from the list (or search for one) > click confirm when you've chosen a number.
- After that, select the monthly subscription plan, then tap Continue.
- Confirm your subscription purchase by tapping Continue.
- Follow the prompts from the Google Play Store to confirm your subscription.
- Allow notifications, phone, and contacts permissions (on the next screens) to ensure Index functions as intended.
- Once all permissions are allowed, you'll be sent to your new Index Inbox, and you can start exploring the Index mobile app.

There's no option to sign up for an Index Web account. In order to gain access to Index Web for Web-based texting (among other features), you'll first need to go through the account registration process for mobile AND be approved.
Index Web is unavailable while your business registration is being processed. Once approved, you'll be able to use Index Web.
